A quick glance at the headlines on a newspaper will reveal a mix of sports, finance, local politics and late-breaking news. This is similar to the state of artificial intelligence (AI) today: a lot of work has been done to build up the technology and develop the capabilities to create news articles, but we still have a long way to go before AI tools can produce news that is as accurate and reliable as a human reporter.
Recognizing that important clinical research results may not be available by the regular abstract submission deadline, SIOP offers an opportunity to submit late-breaking information for consideration as a poster or oral presentation. Late-breaking abstracts must report new data from a clinical study that became fully available after the regular abstract submission deadline, and be of critical importance to the scientific/clinical community. The data must be prospective in design; retrospective studies or single center investigations are not eligible for this category.
Top-scoring late-breaking scientific and/or educational abstracts will be selected for oral presentation at the Congress. Authors of accepted late-breaking abstracts are required to present their work in person at the meeting, and they must register for a full Congress registration.
