World news is the term used in journalism to describe news originating from outside of a country or region. This type of news may be delivered directly to a newspaper, magazine or radio/TV station by a foreign correspondent or, more commonly, to a news agency. Most major news agencies prepare hard news stories and other material for sale to newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations as well as corporations and individuals. These articles are sent in bulk electronically, originally by telegraph, then by fax and now frequently by Internet.
