A daily update is a report that summarizes the events, progress, or changes that occur on a daily basis. For example, a team might provide daily updates on project developments during morning meetings.
When developing an Action, you can configure it to allow users to subscribe to daily updates by using the update intent. When a user invokes this intent, it triggers an Assistant notification that allows them to select a time of day when they want to receive their daily update. Then, the Action sends the daily update to that user’s device.
This feature can help you make your Action more useful to your users, and it can also increase the frequency with which your users engage with your Action. To configure an update intent to allow users to subscribe to daily updates, follow these steps:
In the Dialogflow console, click Develop in the top menu and then open the update intent you want to customize. Click Add new circle outline in the bottom-right corner of the expandable area, then enter a name for your new daily update. Click the checkmark to save your new intent.
For example, if your Teammate wants to be able to choose the daily update questions they answer from a list (for example, if they want to skip answering questions that relate to a particular topic), you can use Geekbot to do this. Then, you can broadcast the daily updates in a dedicated channel on Microsoft Teams, and enable each teammate to receive reminder notifications if they forget to complete their daily update answers within a certain time period.
